Refs ONLY book Sth Americans/Spanish/Continental players for diving. When did Rooney ever get booked for diving? In fairness, Tevez did make a big deal of it - the facials, the fall. But, the defender has stood on his foot and impeded/tripped him. The referee here has punished Tevez for the style of his fall, with the grimace and the manner of falling. He has not even considered the illegality of the play by the defender, which is his job. Ref's job is not to punish Sth American players for the style of how they go to ground, which is flamboyant, his job is to uphold illegal challenges/tackles, which the defender has committed in the penalty box which should be a penalty. If the ref wants to be a dick and book Tevez for the flamboyancy of his dive then fine, let him be a dick; but nevertheless, he should still award the penalty as well!
